Wedding + Beer + TV = ?

Some of you may know that one of my younger brothers (I have 3) is getting married the weekend after Easter - very exciting!

Lachlan is marrying Joy and they've just found a place to live which is great news as the rental market is a bit cutthroat at the moment - it's close to work for Joy and has easy access to Lachlan's job at his new school. Praise God.

The other exciting news is that Lach has been given the go ahead to make his own TV show to be aired on TVS (Channel 31). It's focus will be beer - everything from brewing to drinking. I have learnt a lot about the golden nectar from Lach recently - he's a bit of a guru so it should be great. I'll keep you updated.

As most of you bloggers are so interested in getting people to keep coming back to your blogs I thought you'd be able to contribute a few ideas for the show that will get people interested and keep them coming back to watch. So post a comment with ideas and I'll pass them on to Lach as my own - kidding :)

beerathlon - maybe 10 different events involve beer...
1) shot put
2) javelin
3) running race while carrying it on spoon (a bit like egg and spoon race)
4) beer hurdles
5) beer jump (see who can jump the highest stack of beers)
6) beer swimming (beer instead of water - maybe a medley would be good)
7) taste testing
8) naked taste testing
9) beer fight (like water etc...)
10) beer balance - an endurance test - hold two cups of beer in hands with arms outstretched - the person who can hold their arms up the longest (without spilling their beer) [harder than it sounds... i've only ever done it with water... but assuming beer is similar)

he should do a segment on bargaining at the bottleshop...

eg getting a mixed case at case price - a discount for buying 8 longnecks (for the bas of course!)

and how to talk your way into a free glass or t-shirt

Thanks Dave. You have helped make this the single most commented on post in the short history of Toose Hoose Online. Great ideas mate. I especially like the first two. I'm still very excited none the less.

Good suggestions Guthers. I'll be sure to pass them on to Lach.
